Collaborate

Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you too can become great. When you are seeking to bring big plans to fruition, it is important with whom you regularly associate. Hang out with friends who are like-minded and who are also designing purpose-filled lives. Similarly, be that kind of a friend for your friends.”

~Mark Twain

Through group classes, summer piano camps, rehearsals, recitals, festivals, the September Surprise!, and even weekly lessons, students at Natalie’s Piano Studio have myriad opportunities to make music with others and work on projects together. I view every lesson as a collaborative effort where the student and I can learn and grow as musicians. Here are some of the ways we have fun collaborating:

Group Classes – a time for performing, having fun, interacting with other students, and developing confidence and other musical skills

Summer Piano Camps – a week-long session during the summer that offers something new every year!

Rehearsals – a week prior to the annual Christmas recital students get the chance to practice all their pieces

Recitals – the annual Christmas recital is a favorite studio tradition

Festivals – sponsored by the local music teachers associations to which I belong, community festivals are an exciting way to share music with lots of people in a variety of settings!

September Surprise! – since I take off the month of August, this kick-off event is an opportunity for students to surprise me by playing whatever they want!

Weekly Lessons – games and manipulatives can turn even the most mundane concepts into an exciting learning adventure!
