Though rather a tongue-in-cheek remark by the esteemed Mr. Bach, I have used this quote often with my students. As simplistic as it sounds, there is truth to it. The more we learn and understand elements of music, the design of the body, and how to hone our innate creativity, the more proficient we will become as musicians. Learning to play the piano involves artistry, science, skill, and discipline – a very worthwhile pursuit that can last a lifetime!
